Vin Diesel receives a grand welcome in Mumbai

It was speculated that Vin Diesel might come to India to promote XXX: Return of Xander Cage that has our very own Deepika Padukone in a meaty role. The speculation arose when Deepika hinted about Diesel’s possibility of coming to India at the London Premiere. In fact, she even promised to bring the Hollywood heartthrob to India. And today, she kept her promise.

Diesel arrived at the Corporate Aviation Terminal in Kalina, Mumbai on a private airline with Deepika and the film’s director, DJ Caruso. The trio was provided a grand welcome soaked in Indian taste and culture. They were received in typical Maharashtrian style with Nashik Dhol and baaza.

This is the first visit of Diesel to India and he was seen really excited. He even recorded the entire reception right from stepping out of the airport to sitting in the car. He asked heard asking Deepika about the tilak that was applied to his forehead as per Indian culture.

Diesel is on a 2-day stay in Mumbai and Deepika is playing host to him. In these two days, he will be introduced to Indian cuisines and delicacies. Deepika will also be hosting a big party in his honour that is expected to attend by who’s who of Bollywood.

The premier of XXX:Return of Xander Cage is tonight in Mumbai.

Om Puri passed away at 66 due to heart attack

We have just stepped into 2017 and are shocked to receive the sad news of one of Bollywood’s versatile actors, Om Puri’s demise. The veteran actor suffered a massive heart attack today morning at his residence and couldn’t recover from it. He was 66 and is survived by his ex-wife and a teenage son. His death has left a huge void in the Indian Cinema.

Om Puri was born in October 1950 and hailed from Punjab. He completed his acting course from Film and Television Institute, Pune. He started his journey from theatre and left his impression in parallel and contemporary cinema. There are many notable performances delivered by him that can serve as an acting lesson for young actors. His acting talent was not only confined to the Indian Cinema. Several noted filmmakers from Hollywood too recognized it and cast him in movies in which sentiments, expressions, and human touch were the core subjects. In fact, he is the only Indian actor who has acted in many western films. Owing to his contribution to the Indian Cinema, Om Puri Jee was honoured with Padma Shri by the Indian government.

Many Bollywood figures took to social media and expressed their grief over the loss of the legendary actor.
