Will not leave the country, but firm on intolerance remark – Aamir Khan

aamir kiran

Aamir Khan’s remark on “rising intolerance” at the Ramnath Goenka Awards Function organized by the Indian Express Group, took the country by storm. It  invited lots of criticisms from commoners, politicians, and Bollywood actors. There were also a few voices that were in support of him, but then those were of those who are opposed to the Narendra Modi government.

Speaking at the award function, Aamir said that his wife fears for the safety of their children and have asked whether they should leave India for good owing to the atmosphere of insecurity palpable in the country. He also added that there is a growing sense of despondency, and what is alarming is the denial of wrong by those in the power. He also backed the act of returning awards by intellectuals. According to him, the returning of awards is one of the ways of getting one’s point across.

His comment received a barrage of criticisms on Twitter from all who are not in consent with his comment. And those who are not suggested him to leave the country and go and stay in a country of his wife’s choice. Some even asked him which country does his wife prefers to live in. One of the noted writers said, Aamir earned over 300 crore by mocking Hindu gods in PK. Had he done the same in Pakistan and Bangladesh, he would have been hanged, and still he feels India in an intolerant country. The Shiv Sena party even announced Rs 1 lakh reward to anyone who slaps Aamir khan.

After being ridiculed enough on the social media platform, the PK actor broke his silence two days later from the day of his controversial comment. He said, he and his wife are never thinking and will not move out of the country, and like to stick to his remark on ‘rising intolerance’ in India.

Sensing the heat generated by his comment, security has been beefed up at his residence.

Akshay dazzles in the official trailer of “Airlift”!

Many unpleasant happenings have occurred in the past around the world. It is under such circumstances that endurance, sacrifice, patience, strength, and virtue are tested. And when all these basic human instincts are combined, something heroic comes out of the tragedies. The upcoming film “Airlift” directed by Raja Menon and produced by Bhushan Kumar, is based on a true event we all Indians are not familiar to. Thanks to the makers of this movie for bringing us a heroic act of saving the lives of thousands of Indian on a foreign soil.

“Airlift” is an edge-of-the-seat thriller, and it shows the suffering of people during the Gulf War that started in early 1990. That was the time Iraq attacked and took over major cities of Kuwait. The atrocity committed by the Iraqi army against the people of Kuwait made lives hell for the population. The war not only affected people of Kuwait, but also 1,70,000 Indians working there. The war snatched away all the hard-earned money and shelters from the Indians in a jiffy.

Amidst all the commotion, one Mr. Ranjit Katiyal, an Indian-born Kuwaiti businessman (played by Akshay Kumar), emerged as the hero for the Indians stranded on the warn-torn country. Though he lost everything in the war, yet he planned, coordinated, and supported the Indian government in successfully rescuing 1,70,000 homeless and moneyless Indians stranded in Kuwait. Owing to the success of the rescue mission, it has landed a place in the Guinness Book as the biggest successful civilian evacuations in the world.

The official trailer launched today on the Internet is very promising. It shows war scenes and the dying effort of people to get away from the country. The dialogue writer has really worked on the dialogues. Even the background score complements the fear, emotion, and anxiety of the war times. We are sure you will love after watching it and wait patiently for the release of the film until January 22, 2016.

Aamir’s shoulder injury not major

When it comes to perfection in acting, only one name emerges in our mind – Aamir Khan. The actor is renowned for his hunger to achieve and deliver perfection. And to sport the right look and right expression, he goes to any length. We all know about his preparation and shooting for his upcoming movie ‘Dangal’ based on the true life of India’s legendary wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat. To get the shape and size of a wrestler, Aamir increased his weight with methods that could prove dangerous to his life. He had to take that approach as there was no time to gain weight naturally and the shooting was already scheduled.

The shooting for the film started a month and 10 days ago in Ludhiana. Since the movie is based on wrestling, hardcore action is very much part of it. When shooting for one such action sequence yesterday (November 14) at the Guru Nanak Stadium, Aamir had to give several takes. When the rehearsals were done and the final shot was to be taken, he collapsed and could not get up. Initially, the unit thought his shoulder muscle is pulled.  They stand him up and applied ice packs on the shoulder and asked him to rest for half-an-hour.  When the pain did not recede and seeing him withering in excruciating pain, they took him to a nearby hospital where a serious injury to his shoulder was diagnosed.

Following the diagnosis and for a full-fledged treatment for his shoulder injury, Aamir returned to Mumbai. To offer some consolation to his fans, he tweeted today morning that his shoulder injury is not major, and he will be back to shooting after a week’s rest.

Drunk Kapil Sharma behaves indecent with Deepali Sayyad (Marathi Actress)

kapil sharma

Every few in the world have the stomach to digest fame, be they from sports, film, politics, or any other field. Our Bollywood celebrities are no exception to this phenomena. From Salman to Sharukh, everyone had their share of controversies. Joining them in the league of controversies is Kapil Sharma. Though Kapil has been involved in contentious acts many times before, this time, he stretched it too far and broke all his own records.

The moment was an event of International Marathi Film Festival (IIFM) Awards 2015. The organizers had arranged after-party on a cruise. Actors from Hindi and Marathi TV and film industry attended the party. Kapil too was a guest to the party and went there with his girlfriend Preeti Simones (The Creative Director of Comedy Nights with Kapil). Kapil got drunk and started approaching actresses for dance making Preeti feel awkward. His behavior stunned all and the women started avoiding him.

He began insisting Deepali to dance with him. But seeing his condition and advances, the actress got away from him. He, then turned towards Tanishaa Mukherji and Monali Thakur and persuaded them to join him for dance. Seeing him disturbing others, Sharad Kelkar came forward and made him sit and explained how he is annoying all.

The indecent act or Kapil was confirmed by Deepali who said, Kapil wanted to dance with me but I did not. I moved away. I don’t know Kapil. I prefer to dance with people whom I know. So, I danced with Gutthi and Palak (two famous characters of Comedy Nights).”

When the funny man got back to his senses (probably the next day), he realized his mistake and cleared it on Twitter. However, his comment appeared free of apology or feelings of shame. Read out what he wrote…“I fall, I rise, I make mistakes, I live, I learn, I’ve been hurt but I am alive.i am human, I am not perfect but I am thankful ”

Kapil got a word of advice from Mika Singh, another controversial celebrity and a witness to the embarrassing incident, on Twitter: “@KapilSharmaK9 it’s ok I can understand..But pls next time don’t repeat your mistakes ok. Chalo is bar maf kardiya,” Mika posted on the micro-blogging site.

SRK Invites wrath of few BJP Leaders over his ‘intolerance’ remarks!

sharukh selfie

Sharukh would have never thought his 50th birthday on November 2 will be so full with controversies. It all started when the King Khan expressed his concern over the growing ‘intolerance’ in the country in an event organized by India Today to celebrate his birthday. His comment didn’t go down well with some BJP leaders. The moment his opinion was aired and posted on the Internet, they started lashing out at him and labeling him as an agent of Pakistan. Yogi Adityanath found no difference between language of him and India’s most-wanted terrorist Hafiz Saeed. The name-calling didn’t stop there. Some leaders also suggested him to leave India and go to Pakistan if he finds India an intolerant country. There was a report on a leading website about Hafeez Saaed inviting SRK to Pakistan if he is finding extreme discrimination in India.

In the heated verbal dual, SRK found some support from Congress leaders though.Maybe they thought somebody is voicing their opinions on behalf of them.

Here is the interesting trail of the spate of a word-war erupted after King Khan’s comment:
Kailash Vijayvargiya, BJP general secretary

“Shah Rukh lives in India, but his soul is in Pakistan. His films make crores here but he thinks India is intolerant. If this is not anti-national, then what is it? India is making a bid to become a permanent member of the United Nations and all anti-Indian forces including Pakistan are creating a conspiracy.”

Sadhvi Prachi, VHP leader:

“Shah Rukh Khan is an agent of neighbouring country Pakistan as he reflects their (Pakistan’s) ideology. Such a man should go to Pakistan.”

Yogi Adityanath, BJP MP

“Shah Rukh Khan should remember that if a huge mass in society would boycot his films, he will also have to wander on streets like a normal Muslim….I am saying these people are speaking in a terrorist’ language. I think there is no difference between the language of Shah Rukh Khan and Hafiz Saeed.”

“We welcome that people go there (Pakistan), at least people who defame India will understand their own originality,” he added.

Manoj Tiwari, BJP MP

“He (Shah Rukh Khan) has issued a statement when the Bihar elections are going on. He has always been close to Congress party and his closeness has been seen before as well. I consider his statement as a political comment.”

“If there was any kind of intolerance in the country, he wouldn’t have been one of the top superstars in India. He should keep this fact in his mind that whatever statement he makes, it makes a big impact.”

Najma Heptulla, minority affairs minister

“Had Shah Rukh Khan not said such things, my party men would not have commented anything. He gave them a point to talk on, they didn’t start talking themselves.”

Meenakshi Lekhi, BJP MP

“I want the world to know that he (Shah Rukh) received an Enforcement Directorate (ED) notice on October 26 and India became intolerant on the 1st or 2nd of November.”

“And, when it comes to intolerance, then probably they are those illiterate people who do not know what the history of the country had been under Congress rule.”

“He should raise his voice on the anniversary of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and the Mirchpur or Gohana incidents. Several such incidents happened when Congress was in power but then they were mum.”

Yoga guru Baba Ramdev

“If he is a true patriot, he should return all the money he earned after winning the Padma Shri to the PM relief fund, in case he plans to return the award.”

Nalin Kohli, BJP spokesperson

“His (Adityanath) comments are incorrect and uncalled for. They do not reflect in any way the core belief of BJP or that of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”

“There cannot be any comparison of any law-abiding Indian citizen with a terrorist like Hafiz Saeed, certainly not Khan who is a much loved and respected Indian national and artiste.”

Sanjay Raut, Shiv Sena MP

“This country is tolerant and the Muslims are tolerant as well. Shah Rukh Khan should not be targeted only because he is a Muslim.”

“Shah Rukh Khan is a superstar only because the country is tolerant and has never thought in the name of religion.”

“First of all Shah Rukh Khan should not have gotten into this debate on tolerance and secondly, out of the people who have returned their awards, the number of Muslims is almost negligible. Also, Shah Rukh spoke on the issue very late.”

Ravi Shankar Prasad, telecom minister

“Shah Rukh Khan is extraordinary talent as a film artist of versatile genius and is universally applauded by all Indians alike.”

M Venkaiah Naidu, Union minister

“The party also does not approve of the comments made by a functionary against Shahrukh Khan.”

Anand Sharma, Congress spokesperson: “Shah Rukh Khan is an icon of cosmopolitan India. He has the right to speak his mind as a citizen of India. The BJP can’t question anyone.”

“Shah Rukh Khan expressed his concren and independent opinion as a citizen of the country. The general secretary of the BJP raised questions on his nationality and doubted his patriotism. Whatever was said yesterday, the more we condemn it, less it is. What message are they giving to the people?”

Digvijaya Singh, senior Congress leader

“I strongly condemn Kailash Vijavargiya’s statement. Modi should personally apologise to Shah Rukh. Shah Rukh don’t worry we stand by you.”

Another tweet from Singh said:

PC Chacko, Congress leader

“If they (government) don’t agree with the Congress we have no problem, but the non-political people coming out must be heard.”

“Every kind of intolerance we can see in the society, intolerance against food, intolerance against religion, intolerance against political party, intolerance against the descending opinion. So the country is going towards a disastrous situation.”

Anupam Kher, actor

“Some members of the BJP really need to control their tongue and stop talking rubbish about Shah Rukh Khan. He is a national icon and we are proud of him.”

King Khan turns 50!

The Badshaah of Bollywood, Shahrukh Khan is celebrating his 50th birthday today, November 2. The Badshaah too didn’t disappoint his fans and came at his balcony to express his gratitude. He waved and threw flying kisses towards the huge conglomeration of fans.
